With growing teenage boys in the house, the outdated bathroom was starting to feel cramped and inefficient. The decision was made to completely gut the space and start fresh. This Rutherford bathroom renovation was a much-needed update to accommodate the family’s evolving needs, providing a functional and stylish space for everyone to enjoy.

Inspired by the need to provide more space and functionality for their growing teenage sons, our clients sought Banana Bathrooms to help make a room that could accommodate their evolving needs.

Previously a beloved bathing experience, the corner spa bath was now rarely used, and the clients sought a more generous shower area. With a busy life and commitments to keep on top of, our clients sought a convenient and quick turnaround.

Our team helped the clients select their tiles and products and then took care of ordering and delivering them. Once the renovation began, we provided the entire range of trades to transform this space:

It's easy to see why this bathroom renovation is one of our most popular. With it's striking green chevron tile lay and gold tapware, this is a space that is both contemporary and classic.

How We Did It

Our new bathroom design reduced the space given to the spa bath and increased the space afforded to this family’s favourite space—the shower. By swapping out the spa for a free-standing bath, there was enough room to create a luxurious walk-in shower.

The creation of a hob wall afforded both the new shower and bath functionality, giving each family member plenty of space. A green feature tile in a chevron pattern directs the eye upwards and amplifies a sense of space.

Installing a floating ADP glacier vanity with drawers means less mess when young adults struggle to find what they need and provides a space underneath for a dirty linen basket. The circular mirror and back-to-corner bath—inspired by our #8 display bathroom—add softness and curves to an otherwise naturally right-angled space. Gold Mizu tapware from Reece adds an elevated touch and rounds out the colour palette.

This bathroom renovation in Rutherford has met the client’s functional needs and provided a sophisticated, comfortable retreat for the whole family.
